They Might Be Giants Part II

Well the concert was great. We got there early enough to get a place
right next to the stage. There was no one in front of me. The 2
things that dampened my enjoyment of the concert were the girl from
Kentucky who had traveled all the way up from that god forsaken state
to see this band play and would not shut up in addition the opening
act was horrible. The girl went on and on about how she came up from
Kentucky and how she is following the show. She was one of those
girls who you know is older but still acts like she is 8. But the
real horrible thing was the opening act "Corn Mo." The act consisted
of one guy who looked like meatloaf and played the accordion and hit a
symbol on the floor with a drum stick that he jammed into the laces of
his sneakers. The guy could only play one song and just made up
different words to go along with the melody. About 5 minutes into his
act I had the urge to break a beer bottle and slit my wrists right
there. The best part was when MDB heckled him and he heard it!!

That being said, the main show "They Might Be Giants" was great. They
played "Birdhouse in Your Soul" and during the encore they played my
favorite song "James K Polk." They did not play "Particle Man"
however they did play a lot of new material. I loved the show. It
was the first show that MDB and I have enjoyed together. I have
forced him to see Jimmy Buffett (who is a true artist and a sage of
our times) and he has dragged me kicking and screaming to see Rush and
Marilion. I am so happy that I had the opportunity to see this show!!

I am sorry to say that I must disagree in the strongest of terms. He has not artistry. It is the same song over and over. In addition, he continued to rip stuff off of other artists. I really felt that the time that I was forced to listen to the dribble that he spewed out was one of the worst moments of my life. He is overdone and should be brought back to reality by being forced to listen to great artists like Jimmy Buffett. The sound of a car crash is preferable.

Corn Mo is the same song over and over again ... this coming from a Buffett fan. Ay-yi-yi.
