Hil -- what she meant was, in order for the Indians to have a shot for the playoffs, both Cleveland and New York had to win (New York was playing Boston). That would have forced a playoff game between Boston and Cleveland for the wildcard spot. However, Cleveland and New York lost, so Boston got the wildcard spot and Cleveland did not. The Indians' season is over.
And yeah, we didn't like the idea of hoping NY would win either. And now that the Indians are out of it, you can be sure we won't be rooting for NY to win anything.
